BUENA VISTA WAGON TRAIL RIDE WEEKEND

Saturday, May 26, 2012 & Sunday, May 27, 2012
10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.Bring your own horse or ride in one of the wagons provided for the 9th Annual Buena Vista Wagon Trail Ride. The trail ride features private Black Hills ranch and scenic U.S. Forest Service land north of Edgemont. The ride will take place through Craven Canyon, a canyon full of archeological history. This ride will also feature a US Forest Service Archeologist who will describe the amazing sites. The cost to ride in a wagon is $10 and includes lunch. Horseback riders will need to bring their own horses and may purchase lunch for $6. Horseback riders do not otherwise pay to attend. Wagons will roll at 10 a.m. sharp! Please plan accordingly.
Breakfast before the ride: The Trails, Trains & Pioneers Museum next to the Park in downtown Edgemont is hosting a pancake breakfast before the ride from 6:30 to 9:00 a.m. The cost at the door is $4.
Lunch: We will be stopping along the trail to eat lunch. Orders for lunch must be purchased in advance.Chuck wagon dinner: After the ride, relax and enjoy a chuck wagon dinner and music social at Sunrise Ranch beginning at 5:00 p.m. The cost is $10.
Sunday's ranch ride: Sunrise Ranch is pleased to offer horseback riders a tour of their ranch Sunday morning, May 29, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Breakfast and lunch will be served. The cost is $25.
Monday afternoon Complete your weekend in Edgemont by joining us for an Island Soup cook-off. A variety of soups will be prepared on open fire pits in cast iron pots. Come down to Edgemont City Park and cross the covered bridge to the island and join the fun! For details, please visit http://www.edgemontmuseum.com/

Online, visit http://buenavistaride.eventbrite.com/ to place your order. Tickets are non-refundable after May 21, 2012. Online ticketing fees are non-refundable at time of purchase. Wagon seats are limited.

Map: The starting location this year is the ranch of Randy & Diane Stevens. It is located at 22717 Red Canyon Road. From US Highway 18 2 miles east of Edgemont turn onto Red Canyon Road. The ranch is 4 miles down Red Canyon Road and is on your left.
Lodging: For lodging, please contact Sunrise Ranch, a western-style lodge conveniently located at the beginning and end of the Buena Vista Wagon Trail ride. In consideration for riding in the event, you agree to hold the Edgemont Chamber of Commerce, Chamber members, wagon owners, team owners and/or drivers, horse riders and owners, and landowners harmless for an injuries, property damage, or deaths to you or your dependents while participating in this event. You agree not to claim compensation from, sue or otherwise seek any legal remedy from the Chamber, its members, team, wagon owners, drivers, horse rider, owners or landowners for any injuries, property damage or deaths.
