Join us on this incredibly beautiful ride on horse or in a horse drawn
wagon through the Black Hills National Forest outside of Edgemont, South
Dakota. This year we will be traveling through Craven Canyon on U.S. Forest
Service lands north of Edgemont. As always
we will have wagons available for
those who do not care to ride a horse. Pre-registration is needed to make sure
we have enough wagon seats for all who wish to come along and for ordering
lunches ahead of time. We will stop along the way to eat.
Directions to starting
point:
You will receive
a map and directions to the starting point with your registration confirmation.
There is enough parking space this year for all the vehicles and we will start
and finish at the same location.
Making reservations:
Call the
Edgemont Chamber Office at 605-662-5900 or contact Cindy Turner at 605-662-5576
to get a registration form sent to you. These must be returned by May 20th
to secure a spot on the trip. We will mail out the map and directions when it
is returned to us. Please note that we must limit registrations to no more than
70 people, so get your registration in as soon as possible to become a
participant in the ride.

Lunch:
We will be stopping to eat along the way and if you wish to have a lunch please indicate this on your reservation sheet in the spot provided. Lunch consists of roast beef/cheese or ham/cheese sandwich on hamburger-sized bun, chips, large cookie, apple and water or pop. There is a $6 fee for lunch. Please submit payment for your lunch with your registration.
Breakfast:
This year The Trails, Trains, and Pioneers Museum in Edgemont is having a special pancake breakfast at the museum in downtown Edgemont. The museum has an extensive collection of research and replica drawings of the Craven Canyon rock art. So, along with good food for an early start, you’ll have an opportunity to become familiar with the history of the rock art and learn more about the Native American rock art in the Edgemont area. www.edgemont-sd.com/museum.htm
Dinner and Entertainment at Sunrise Guest Ranch:
You are invited to Sunrise Ranch for dinner and entertainment after the day’s events. Dinner will be served from 5pm to 7pm. Along with dinner you’ll be able to enjoy live music and watch or take part in roosting roping. Dinner costs $7. www.sunriseguestranch.com
